Safrante Specialty Foods S.A. is a Spanish based company made up of a highly qualified professional team, with a very long experience and constant updating of the productive means.

We are manufacturers and wholesalers of saffron threads or filaments, saffron powder and Safrante: our flagship derivative. Our saffron is ruled under the International Standard ISO 3632. And of course, we are also HACCP certified.

Fruit of hard and daily labor we are now present in more than 20 countries all around the World.

Our main brand is SAFRANTE® (whose name comes from our derivative). After years of researching with saffron we developed a 100% natural derivative with no additives, which conserved the main features of saffron: its unequalled aroma, its bright color and of course its unbeatable flavor. Color

Safrante Specialty Foods S.A. is a saffron specialist company. Our work over the years with this spice, creating derived products, and experimenting with the different organoleptic capacities of this plant has resulted in a patented process to obtain a 100% natural yellow color based on natural crocin of saffron, a carotenoid that provides an intense yellow color. It is free of artificial colorings, does not contain gluten and is resistant to cooking and freezing processes. The stability and durability of the color is much higher than that of its natural competitors (e.g. beta-carotene and curcumin). It is totally soluble in water and alcohol, even at low temperature, leaving no residues in the final product.

Soft aroma and flavor. Suitable for soups, broths, pastry, and confectionery that besides a powerful color require flavor and aroma of saffron. Also indicated for sauces, dressings, and dips.

Aroma and flavor intermediate. Indicated for ready meals or recipes from the Middle East such as tabulé, couscous, hummus, etc.

Intense aroma and flavor. Indicated for prepared dishes of paella, risotto, fideua and other recipes that require saffron flavor and aroma but at a much lower cost than saffron itself.

Otherwise known as “red gold”, saffron is the world’s most expensive spice. But, as an object of desire it can also be a victim of fraud. Low quality saffron is often traded on international markets, and the specifications for pure saffron are not always respected. Safrante Specialty Foods S.A. offers to our customers the highest guarantee of quality basing on 4 main points:

  • Our saffron is ruled under the International Standard ISO 3632-1:2011.
  • We are HACCP certified.
  • All our batches are analyzed in external laboratories accredited by ENAC (Entidad Nacional de Acreditación), the body designated by the Government to assess technical competence in accordance with international standards.
