SAFRANTE GLOBAL COMPANY, S.L.U. is a Spanish based company made up of a highly qualified professional team, with a very long experience and constant updating of the productive means.

We are manufacturers and wholesalers of saffron threads or filaments, saffron powder and Safrante: our flagship derivative. Our saffron is ruled under the International Standard ISO 3632. And of course, we are also HACCP certified.

Fruit of hard and daily labor we are now present in more than 20 countries all around the World.

Our main brand is SAFRANTE® (whose name comes from our derivative). After years of researching with saffron we developed a 100% natural derivative with no additives, which conserved the main features of saffron: its unequalled aroma, its bright color and of course its unbeatable flavor. SAFRANTE is the first and only product in the World that can compete with the queen of the spices but with the advantage of being exceedingly more economical.

Saffron Derivative

Our brand is SAFRANTE. After years of researching with saffron and trying what no other company has been able to do, we have developed a 100% natural saffron derivative product with no additives, which conserved the main features of saffron: its unequalled aroma, its bright color and of course, its unbeatable flavor. SAFRANTE is the first and only product in the world that can compete with the queen of the spices but with the advantage of being exceedingly more economical.


The product is a yellow orange powder, 100% natural, with a characteristic smell and flavour, made from saffron. Saffron is the dried stigma of the Crocus Sativus Linnaeus, a perennial plant of the iridaceous family. SAFRANTE gives an attractive color to food and adds an exquisite aroma and flavor. It can be an essential ingredient in Spanish Paella, French Bouillabaisse and Italian Rissotto.


The active components of natural saffron provide the organoleptic characteristics to Safrante. The color comes from the crocine, the aroma from the safranal and the characteristic bitter flavor from the picrocrocine.   SAFRANTE is used in food as a natural food colorant for its aroma and flavor.

Our company is located in the province of Málaga, rich in many different ways, in its wide variety of products and raw materials, in quality, in activity, in innovation and tourism as well as in international image and industrial activities, like the ones developed in wine cellars, oil mills, meat industries and cheese factories, among other agro-food industries.


SABOR A MÁLAGA which translates literally as “Taste of Málaga” – is a trade mark that arises from a serious planning and the joint efforts of the sector. It emerges from the study of the demand and the approach of each of the 16 sectorial committees summoned by the Provincial Council, participating more than 400 agricultural and fishing companies as well as agro-food and gastronomic companies of Málaga province since August 2011.

Otherwise known as “red gold”, saffron is the world’s most expensive spice. But, as an object of desire it can also be a victim of fraud. Low quality saffron is often traded on international markets, and the specifications for pure saffron are not always respected. SAFRANTE GLOBAL COMPANY, S.L.U. offers to our customers the highest guarantee of quality basing on 4 main points:

  • Our saffron is ruled under the International Standard ISO 3632-1:2011.
  • We are HACCP certified.
  • We have been one of the first and few saffron specialist companies in Spain to obtain one of the most rigorous food safety certifications in the World: the IFS.
  • All our batches are analyzed in external laboratories accredited by ENAC (Entidad Nacional de Acreditación), the body designated by the Government to assess technical competence in accordance with international standards.

IFS Standards help to comply with all legal food and non-food safety and quality requirements and give common and transparent standards to all concerned suppliers and service providers as well as a concrete and strong answer to the high safety and quality expectations of customers.

Important Tips About Saffron:

The best way to ensure that the product is 100% pure are the Food Safety Certifications that the supplier may give. Safrante Global Company, SLU has been one of the first saffron companies worldwide having two of the most stringent certifications: BRC (British Retail Consortium) and IFS (International Food Standards), currently holding the IFS.

  • Be wary of products that are too cheap, since 100% pure saffron is not a cheap spice.
  • Also be wary of products whose shelf life is very long, in proper storage conditions the lifetime is around 3 years.
